Comfortable Transfers from Zurich Airport to Aigle

Aigle sits at the southern end of the Rhône Valley in the canton of Vaud, 220 kilometres from Zurich Airport via the A1 and A9 motorways. The journey takes approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, a single uninterrupted drive south through the Swiss Plateau, past Bern, through the narrows at Villeneuve, and into the vineyard-terraced valley that opens beneath the Chablais Alps.

Express Transfer operates private door-to-door chauffeur service from ZRH directly to Aigle and to the ski resorts above it. Your driver monitors your flight from departure and is in the arrivals hall with a name sign before you land. From there, a single direct journey takes you to your address in Aigle, your chalet in Leysin, or your hotel in Villars-sur-Ollon, with all luggage handled throughout.

The Route from Zurich Airport to Aigle

The transfer from ZRH follows the A1 motorway south-west through the Swiss Mittelland, passing Bern and continuing on the A12 through Fribourg before joining the A9 at Vevey and following Lake Geneva’s eastern shore south to the Rhône Valley. The final section runs along the valley floor through Villeneuve and into Aigle.

The route covers 220 kilometres and the drive typically takes 2 hours 20 minutes. Traffic can extend this on Friday afternoons during ski season, when the A9 between Montreux and Aigle carries significant resort-bound volume. Your driver accounts for this at dispatch and will advise if an earlier departure is recommended based on your flight time and the day of the week.

Unlike some alpine destinations in the Express Transfer city-to-city network, Aigle itself is straightforward to navigate by vehicle. The town centre, train station, and the main routes towards Leysin and Les Diablerets are all directly accessible by car. Drop-off is door to door to any address.

Ski Resort Transfers from Aigle

Aigle’s primary function in the transfer network is as a gateway town for the ski resorts of the Vaud Alps. Three major resort areas are accessed from the Aigle valley.

Leysin sits directly above Aigle, reached via the mountain road from the town centre in approximately 20 minutes. It is a compact, well-maintained resort at 1,450 metres with excellent beginner and intermediate terrain and a significant student and international visitor presence. Groups travelling to Leysin from ZRH often prefer the Business Van, which handles six passengers and their ski equipment in a single vehicle.

Villars-sur-Ollon is accessed via the road north-east of Aigle through Ollon and Gryon. The drive from Aigle takes 25 to 30 minutes. Villars is one of the most established family ski resorts in the Swiss Alps, purpose-built for comfort, with a good proportion of chalets and apartment rentals catering to multi-week stays. For families arriving with children, ski bags, and significant luggage from a long-haul flight, a Business Van from ZRH direct to a Villars chalet address is often the most practical option.

Les Diablerets is the third resort accessed from the Aigle area, reached via the Col du Pillon road north into the Bernese Oberland. The glacier skiing at Glacier 3000 makes it the only year-round ski destination in this group. The resort attracts a premium chalet clientele who typically prefer a First Class or Business Sedan transfer for the airport leg.

For all three resorts, your Express Transfer driver delivers you door to door to your specific chalet, hotel, or apartment address. Ski equipment including ski bags, boot bags, and poles is handled as standard. For groups with very large volumes of equipment, mention this at booking and we will confirm vehicle capacity before you pay.

About

About Aigle

Aigle is a small market town of around 10,000 people sitting at the confluence of the Grande Eau and Rhône rivers, at the point where the flat valley floor meets the lower slopes of the Vaud Alps. Vineyards begin almost immediately above the town and continue up the hillsides in terraced rows that are classified as UNESCO World Heritage as part of the broader Lavaux wine landscape.

The Château d’Aigle is the defining landmark, a 13th-century castle on a rocky outcrop above the valley floor, now housing the Musée de la Vigne et du Vin. The museum covers the viticultural history of the Chablais and Vaud regions in genuine depth and the castle is visible from the motorway as you approach from the north. Wine tasting in the surrounding Aigle AOC appellation is available through several producers within walking distance of the town centre.

The Aigle-Leysin-Les Diablerets mountain railway, operated by TPC, connects the town to the resorts above it and is a scenic option for guests who want to continue by train after arriving in Aigle. For those with ski equipment and luggage arriving directly from an international flight, the direct private transfer to the resort address is almost always more practical.
