Arrival

Where the car stops

Tell us your hotel when you book; we confirm the drop-off point with you before the ride.

  • Lech, Zug and Zürs: to your hotel or chalet door.
  • Oberlech is car-free from December to April: we stop at the Oberlech cable car in Lech (Anger underground car park, Dorfstrasse). In the cable car's underground arrival area your luggage is taken over and your cable-car ticket issued; the luggage then reaches the Oberlech hotels through the tunnel system. Your chauffeur helps you with luggage and skis up to that point.
  • Warth: to your hotel door. The road from Lech to Warth is usually closed in winter, so we drive round through the Bregenzerwald.

Winter road

The winter road to Lech and Zürs

We drive via St. Gallen or Sargans and Feldkirch to Bludenz and on the Arlberg expressway to Klösterle. There we leave it before the Arlberg tunnel and take the Flexen road via Stuben to Zürs and Lech, the only winter road to both villages; it can close for short periods when the avalanche risk is high.

  • The road from Lech to Warth is usually closed in winter, so for Warth we drive through the Bregenzerwald.
  • The Austrian motorway vignette is included in your price.
  • In winter, every car runs on winter tyres. 4x4 vehicles and snow chains are available.
  • Reach us 24/7 once your ride is confirmed: +41 76 218 98 64, phone or WhatsApp.

If a road is closed, we look for another route and check official information. If there is none, we wait with you until it reopens or, if you prefer, drive you to the nearest train station and help you buy your ticket. You are never left on your own. A detour or waiting because of a road closure costs you nothing extra.

Snow and traffic can add time; we don't promise a fixed winter travel time.

Good to know

Lech & Zürs transfer: your questions

How long is the drive from Zurich Airport to Lech and Zürs?

About 194 km, about 2 h 20 to Lech and 189 km, about 2 h 10 to Zürs in normal conditions. Snow and traffic can add time, so we don't promise a fixed winter travel time.

Which road do you take in winter?

Via Bludenz and the Arlberg expressway to Klösterle, then via Stuben over the Flexen road to Zürs and Lech, the only winter road to both villages. It can close for short periods when the avalanche risk is high (route map). The Austrian motorway vignette is included in your price.

Can you drive us to our hotel in Oberlech?

Oberlech is car-free from December to April, so we stop at the Oberlech cable car in Lech; your luggage is taken over in its underground arrival area and reaches your hotel through the tunnel system. To Lech, Zug, Zürs and Warth we drive to your door (where the car stops).

Is a private transfer better than the Arlberg Express or the train?

The bus and the train cost less per person. A private car costs the same for one to three passengers (up to six in a Business Van), takes you from the arrivals hall to your door at the time you choose, waits for a delayed flight and carries your skis free (comparison).

Do we need passports or ID cards?

Yes. The route crosses into Austria, and Austria asks every traveller to carry a valid passport or identity card at each border crossing; a driving licence is not enough. Some nationalities also need a Schengen visa. Sources: oesterreich.gv.at, bazg.admin.ch.

Do skis and snowboards cost extra?

No, they travel free. Write the number of ski pairs and snowboards and, if you know them, the ski lengths in the booking comment, so we can plan the right car and rack.

Which car for a family of four with skis?

A Business Van, to Lech from CHF 770: up to 6 passengers and 6 suitcases, and the skis travel with you if you tell us the pairs in advance. Two sedans with roof racks are the other option.

My flight is late: do I pay for waiting?

No. We track your flight; a delay moves your pickup, and your 60 minutes of free waiting run from the new pickup time.

How early should we leave Lech or Zürs for our flight?

Leave Lech or Zürs 5½ hours before a long-haul flight, 5 hours before a flight within Europe; on heavy-snow days add an hour.

What does the price include, and when is it higher?

The from-price is for a Comfort Sedan, one way. Every price is all‑inclusive: VAT, parking, airport fees, tolls, tunnels and car trains, including the Austrian motorway vignette. It is higher for a larger class and on a few peak dates; if your date is one of them, the booking tells you. You see the exact price before you pay.

Can I cancel?

Yes. You get a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the originally confirmed pickup time. A flight delay does not move this deadline. If you cancel within 24 hours, or don't show up, the full amount may be retained. For rides from 15 to 25 January 2027 (Davos event week): free cancellation up to 14 days before your first ride; after that the booking is no longer refundable, but the time, pickup point or passenger name can still be changed free of charge.
