Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what guests ask before they book: the price, the airport pickup, your car and chauffeur, changes and payment. Is your question missing? Write to us.
Price and booking
What's included in the price?
The price shown before you pay is all-inclusive: VAT, parking, road, airport, tunnel and ferry charges, traffic costs, any night, weekend or holiday surcharges and the stops you book. Short stops of 5–15 minutes are free. Afterwards, we charge only for a route change you ask for, long stops such as a restaurant meal, extra waiting (CHF 20 per started 15 minutes) and, on hourly bookings, extra time or kilometres.
How do I get a price and book?
Enter your pickup address, destination, date and time in the booking form. It shows the all-inclusive price for each vehicle class; choose one, add the passenger details and, for airport rides, the flight, and pay by card. You can book as a guest or with an account, on the website or in the app.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Online booking needs at least 6 hours' notice. For anything sooner, WhatsApp is the fastest way to check availability, or call +41 76 218 98 64.
Do you drive at night, on weekends and holidays?
Yes. Rides run 24/7, holidays included, and any night, weekend or holiday surcharge is already in the price you see. Once your ride is confirmed, support is available around the clock.
Can we stop on the way?
Yes. Short stops of 5–15 minutes are free. Add a longer stop, such as a supermarket or a meal, when you book.
Can I book for someone else?
Yes. In the booking, choose “I am booking for someone else”, with or without an account, and enter the name for the tablet: the passenger's, or another name such as your company's. You and your passenger both receive the confirmation and the chauffeur's details.
Can I book by WhatsApp or e-mail?
Yes. Send us the route, date, time, number of passengers and luggage. We reply with the price and a payment link.
Where do you drive?
One end of every ride is in the Canton of Zurich. The other can be anywhere in Switzerland or in a neighbouring country: Germany, Austria, France, Italy or Liechtenstein.
How is this different from a taxi at the airport?
A taxi from the rank usually runs on the meter, and you pay at the end. With us you book ahead and see the all-inclusive price before you pay; traffic does not change it. Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a tablet, follows your flight and waits up to 60 minutes free of charge. You choose the vehicle class, and child seats are included.
At Zurich Airport
Where do I meet my chauffeur at Zurich Airport?
In the public arrivals hall, after baggage reclaim and customs. Your chauffeur waits there with your name on a tablet, speaks English and helps with your luggage. Once a chauffeur is assigned, the app shows their photo, name and phone number, so you know who to look for. More on Zurich Airport transfers.
What if my flight is delayed or lands early?
We track your flight in real time, and a delay moves your pickup automatically, including any buffer you chose when booking. Example: pickup booked for 10:00, landing planned for 09:50 plus a 10-minute buffer. The flight lands at 10:10, so your pickup moves to 10:20. If you land early, we try to be there sooner but can't promise it; free waiting starts at your booked time.
How long does my chauffeur wait free of charge?
At the airport, 60 minutes from your pickup time; if your flight is delayed, from the new pickup time. At any other address, 20 minutes. Longer waiting is charged only at your request or with your agreement: CHF 20 per started 15 minutes.
When do I receive my chauffeur's name and number?
By 20:00 on the evening before your ride; for a ride booked later than that, at least 2 hours before pickup. They come by e-mail and, if you chose text messages in the booking, by SMS; the app shows your chauffeur's photo, name and phone number.
What if I can't find my chauffeur?
Call your chauffeur: the number comes by e-mail and SMS once assigned. If there is no answer, stay in the arrivals hall and call or message +41 76 218 98 64.
How early should I be at the airport for my departure?
Arrive 2–3 hours before your flight, especially international ones, and allow for traffic. Coming from a ski resort? Our ski resort pages tell you when to leave.
Do you meet private jets at the FBO or General Aviation terminal?
Yes, at the FBO / General Aviation terminal of any airport. Send us the tail or flight number, the handling agent (FBO) and your ETA. We track the flight and coordinate with the handling agent; your chauffeur waits at the FBO / GA terminal with a name tablet and handles your luggage. For departures, we drop you at the FBO entrance at the time agreed with the crew. Free waiting is 20 minutes, and you see the same all-inclusive price before you pay. At short notice, WhatsApp is fastest.
Your car and chauffeur
Which car will pick me up?
You choose the class when you book: Comfort Sedan (Tesla Model 3, Y or X or similar; up to 3 passengers, 2 suitcases), Business Sedan (Mercedes EQE or E-Class, BMW 5 Series or similar), Business Van (Mercedes V-Class or EQV; up to 6 passengers, 6 suitcases) or First Class (Mercedes S-Class or EQS, BMW i7 or similar). We guarantee the class, not one exact model. Once your chauffeur is assigned, the app shows the car, its plate and your chauffeur's photo and name.
How much luggage fits?
Up to 3 passengers and 2 suitcases in a Comfort or Business Sedan, 2 passengers and 2 suitcases in First Class, up to 6 passengers and 6 suitcases in the Business Van. More than that? Choose the Business Van or a second car, or ask us before you book.
Are child seats really free?
Yes. Baby seats, child seats and booster seats cost nothing extra. Select what you need when you book.
Can I bring skis, a bike or extra luggage?
Yes, on request: tell us in the booking comment. Skis go on a roof ski rack or inside with a seat folded down; 1–2 pairs per passenger can be arranged if we know in advance. The Business Van takes up to 6 passengers and 6 suitcases.
Which languages do your chauffeurs speak?
Every chauffeur speaks English, and many speak other languages too. Tell us in the booking which language you need and we match it when such a chauffeur is available.
What can I expect in the car?
A chauffeur in suit and tie who helps with your luggage, and a car cleaned before each ride. On board: bottled water, charging cables and Wi-Fi. Music and temperature are set the way you like.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, pets are welcome. Tell us in the booking comment which animal travels with you, so we can plan the right car.
Can I smoke in the car?
No. Smoking of any kind, e-cigarettes included, is not allowed in the car. We gladly stop for a smoking break on the way.
Changes and cancellation
Can I cancel for free?
Yes. You get a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the originally confirmed pickup time. A flight delay does not move this deadline. If you cancel within 24 hours, or don't show up, the full amount may be retained.
Can I change my booking?
Yes. Write to us by WhatsApp or e-mail. Up to 24 hours before pickup there is no change fee for a new time, address or vehicle class, subject to availability; if the price changes, you pay or get back the difference. Later changes are on request and not guaranteed, and a lower price is then not refunded.
What if I am not at the pickup point?
Your chauffeur waits for the included time, 60 minutes at the airport and 20 minutes at any other address, and tries to reach you by phone and message. If you have not arrived and cannot be reached by then, the ride counts as a no-show and the full amount may be retained. Running late? Tell us: after the included time, your chauffeur keeps waiting at CHF 20 per started 15 minutes.
Payment and invoices
How can I pay?
Online, by credit or debit card, when you book: your ride is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through, and the price you saw is the price you pay. Approved company accounts can pay by monthly invoice instead.
Do I receive an invoice?
Yes. After a ride booked on the website or in the app, you receive an e-mail with your invoice as a PDF. It shows the VAT and our VAT number, CHE-236.419.159 MWST. Booked another way? Ask us and we send it. Company accounts on monthly invoicing receive one invoice per month instead.
Can my company pay by invoice?
Yes, once your company account is approved: Swiss companies after approval and an agreed volume, international companies after a proven volume of completed rides. You receive one invoice at the start of each month for the previous month, with 10 days to pay.
Is a tip expected?
No. A tip is not expected; it is entirely your choice.
Mountains and winter
Do skis and snowboards cost extra?
No, they travel free. Write the number of ski pairs and snowboards and, if you know them, the ski lengths in the booking comment, so we can plan the right car and rack.
What about snow and closed mountain roads?
In winter, every car runs on winter tyres; 4x4 vehicles and snow chains are available. If a road closes, we look for another route using the latest road and traffic information. If there is none, we wait with you until it reopens or, if you prefer, take you to the nearest train station and help with the ticket. You are never left on your own. A detour or waiting because of a road closure costs you nothing extra.
Is a 4x4 guaranteed?
No. Every car runs on winter tyres, and 4x4 vehicles and snow chains are available.
How far can you drive me in Zermatt, Saas-Fee or Wengen?
To the last point a car may go: Täsch for Zermatt, the car park at the village entrance for Saas-Fee, Lauterbrunnen for Wengen, and Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg for Mürren. Your chauffeur unloads and helps with your luggage.
By the hour, companies and groups
Can I keep the car and chauffeur for several hours or a whole day?
Yes: by the hour, from 2 to 24 hours, with 20 km included per booked hour, counted over the whole booking. The time runs from the booked start, whether the car is driving or waiting.
Can you provide several vehicles at the same time?
Yes, on request: vehicles, chauffeurs and schedule are confirmed in writing in your quote, subject to availability.
One contact person and the same chauffeur for several days?
One contact for your whole programme: our main number +41 76 218 98 64, answered by the owner. On request, the same chauffeur stays with you for several days; the chauffeur's accommodation is included in the quoted price.
Do you sign a confidentiality agreement?
Yes, we sign NDAs on request.
Davos in January
Can you drop us at a secured hotel during the event week?
During the event week, your Davos ride is driven by a chauffeur holding the police driver badge, in a car with the vehicle sticker for drop-offs and pick-ups at the secured hotels. Where a street is closed to cars, as some were in 2026, we drop you at the nearest permitted point and tell you in advance. Express Transfer is an independent chauffeur company and is not affiliated with the World Economic Forum.
